Packworthy App Terms of Use
Effective date: [EFFECTIVE DATE] Last updated: [EFFECTIVE DATE]
These App Terms of Use ("Terms") are an agreement between you and [LEGAL ENTITY], doing business as AutoOps ("Packworthy," "we," "us," or "our"), [MAILING ADDRESS], for the Packworthy mobile application for Android and iOS (the "App"). Our Privacy Policy explains how we handle your information.
Summary of key purchase terms (full terms in Section 5):
- Free plan: solo trips of 2 nights or less, with ads. No charge.
- Trip plans (Solo $4.99, Couple $9.99, Family $24.99): one-time charge for one trip. The purchase is fulfilled when your packing list is generated. You can edit or reschedule that same trip, but a new trip (new destination or itinerary) needs a new purchase. Trip plans can't be reused or transferred to a different trip. No automatic renewal.
- Annual plans (Solo $14.99/year, Couple $19.99/year, Family $39.99/year): renew automatically every year at the then-current price, charged to your Apple ID or Google Play account, until you cancel. Cancel anytime in your App Store or Google Play subscription settings, at least 24 hours before renewal, to avoid the next charge.
- Refunds: all purchases are billed by Apple or Google. We do not issue refunds directly; refund requests go to the store you bought from and are decided by that store under its policies. Your legal rights, including EU/UK withdrawal rights and other consumer rights that cannot be waived, are not affected (Section 5.6).
- Prices are in U.S. dollars; local prices and taxes shown in the store apply.
Please read Section 15 (Dispute Resolution). Except where prohibited by law, it requires individual arbitration and waives class actions and jury trials.
1. Acceptance and eligibility
By downloading, installing, or using the App, you agree to these Terms. You must be at least 18 years old (or the age of majority where you live) to use the App, create an account, or make purchases. The App is for adults planning trips. Children may be included as travelers in your trips, but children may not use the App or an account themselves.
2. License
We grant you a limited, non-exclusive, non-transferable, revocable license to download and use the App on devices you own or control, for your personal, non-commercial use, as permitted by these Terms and by the usage rules of the Apple App Store or Google Play store you downloaded it from. You may not copy, modify, reverse engineer, decompile, rent, lease, sell, sublicense, or redistribute the App, except as the law expressly allows despite this restriction.
3. Your account and content
- You may need an account to save, sync or share trips. Keep your sign-in secure and accurate.
- Your content (trips, traveler profiles, lists, items, notes) belongs to you. You give us a limited license to store, process, display and transmit it only to provide the App to you and to people you share with.
- Information about other people. If you add other travelers, including your children, you confirm that you are their parent or guardian or have their permission, and that you will add only what is needed for packing. Please use first names or nicknames.
- Sharing. If you share a trip, invited people can see and edit that trip. Share only with adults you trust. You can remove access anytime.
- Health information. Do not enter medical details. A routine item such as "daily medication" is only a reminder to pack it.
4. Packing suggestions are not guarantees
Packing lists, quantities (including diaper, wipe, formula and baby-supply estimates), weather forecasts and travel tips are generated automatically and may be incomplete or wrong. Weather data comes from a third party and may be inaccurate. You are responsible for what you pack and for checking current rules with your airline, airport security, cruise line, border authority, and other travel providers. The App does not give medical, health, safety, or legal advice.
5. Plans, purchases and automatic renewal

Affiliate product suggestions may appear on all plans, including paid plans. See our Affiliate Disclosure.
5.2 Trip plans
A trip plan is a one-time purchase of digital content for one trip:
- One trip per purchase. The trip plan applies to the single trip you select or create when you buy.
- Delivery. The purchase is delivered and fulfilled when Packworthy generates the packing list for that trip. From then on, the trip plan is used and cannot be applied to any other trip.
- Editing and rescheduling the same trip. After your list is generated, you can keep editing that same trip, including rescheduling its dates, and the plan's features stay available for it. What counts as the same trip: [A trip is the same trip if its primary destination (the first destination city or area you entered when you bought) stays the same. You may change dates, trip length, travelers (up to your plan's limit), activities and items, and add stops in the same country. It becomes a new trip if you change the primary destination, or add a destination in a different country.]
- New trips need a new purchase. A new trip, including a new primary destination or a new itinerary, requires a new trip plan (or an annual plan).
- Not reusable or transferable. A trip plan cannot be reused for, moved to, or split across a different trip, and cannot be transferred to another person or account.
- Trip plans do not renew and you will not be charged again.
5.3 Annual plans: automatic renewal terms
Annual plans are auto-renewing subscriptions. By choosing an annual plan, you agree that:
- You will be charged the annual price shown at checkout (for example, $14.99 for Solo, $19.99 for Couple, or $39.99 for Family, plus any applicable tax) at confirmation of purchase, to your Apple ID or Google Play account.
- Your subscription renews automatically every 12 months and you will be charged the then-current annual price for your plan within 24 hours before the end of each term, until you cancel.
- You can cancel anytime. Cancellation takes effect at the end of the current paid term; you keep paid features until then. To avoid being charged for the next term, cancel at least 24 hours before the renewal date.
- How to cancel:
- Google Play: open the Google Play Store app > tap your profile icon > Payments & subscriptions > Subscriptions > Packworthy > Cancel subscription; or visit play.google.com/store/account/subscriptions.
- Apple: open Settings > your name > Subscriptions > Packworthy > Cancel Subscription; or visit apps.apple.com/account/subscriptions.
- In the App: Settings > Plan > Manage or cancel subscription, which takes you directly to the store's cancellation page.
- Need help? Email [CONTACT EMAIL]. We will help you cancel, but because the store controls billing, we may not be able to cancel it for you directly.
- Price changes. If we change the annual price, we will tell you in advance, by email or in the App, and the store will notify you, at least [7–30] days before the change applies to your renewal, as required by law and store rules. Where the store or law requires it, you will need to agree to the new price or your subscription will not renew.
- Renewal reminder. We [and the store] will send you a reminder before each annual renewal, with the price, renewal date and how to cancel.
- Free trials. [If offered:] a free trial converts automatically into a paid annual plan at the end of the trial unless you cancel at least 24 hours before it ends. We will tell you the trial length and price before you start, and [for trials longer than 31 days] remind you before you are charged.
- After cancellation or expiry, your saved trips stay viewable, but you cannot use paid features on new trips until you buy again.
We will send you an acknowledgment of your subscription that includes these renewal terms, the cancellation policy, and how to cancel, in a form you can keep.
5.4 Switching plans
You can switch plans at any time. Trips you have already paid for keep their plan. Upgrades and downgrades of annual plans are handled by the store and may be prorated or take effect at your next renewal, depending on the store's rules.
5.5 Billing and restores
All purchases are processed by Apple or Google under their terms. We do not receive or store your payment card details. If you change devices, use Restore purchases in the App with the same Apple ID or Google account.
5.6 Refunds
- We do not issue refunds directly. All purchases (trip plans and annual plans) are billed by Apple or Google, and refund requests are made to, and decided by, the store you bought from, under that store's policies. We cannot approve, deny, or process refunds ourselves.
- Google Play: play.google.com/store/account/orderhistory, or see support.google.com/googleplay/answer/2479637.
- Apple App Store: reportaproblem.apple.com, or see support.apple.com/118223.
- Cancelling an annual plan stops future renewals. It does not by itself give a refund for the current term; any refund for the current term is up to the store under its policies, or as required by law.
- If something isn't working, contact us at [CONTACT EMAIL] and we will try to fix it. We can also tell you how to request a refund from the store.
- EU, EEA and UK consumers: right of withdrawal. You normally have a legal right to withdraw from a contract for digital content or digital services within 14 days. Trip plans are delivered when your packing list is generated; annual plans start when paid features are unlocked. Before we generate your list (trip plans) or unlock paid features (annual plans), we will ask you to expressly agree to immediate delivery and to acknowledge that you lose your right of withdrawal once delivery begins. If you have not given that consent and acknowledgment, your withdrawal right is not lost, and you can still withdraw within 14 days. To exercise a withdrawal right you still have, request it through the store or contact us at [CONTACT EMAIL] and we will direct you to the store's process.
- Trip plans after delivery. Because a trip plan is fulfilled when the list is generated, it is used at that point. Any refund request after that is decided by the store under its policies, subject to your legal rights below.
- Your legal rights are not affected. Nothing in this Section limits any right you have under laws that cannot be waived by contract, including remedies for faulty or non-conforming digital content (for example, under EU/UK consumer law or the Australian Consumer Law), or the warranty refund described in Section 16.1 for Apple users.
6. Ads on the free plan
The free plan shows ads from [AD NETWORK]. Depending on your region and choices, ads may be personalized. You can manage this in Settings > Privacy. See our Privacy Policy.
7. Acceptable use
You agree not to misuse the App, including by: breaking or bypassing purchase or plan limits; sharing an account or trip plan beyond the plan's traveler limit; scraping or automated access; interfering with the App or its security; uploading unlawful or harmful content; or using the App to violate any law or anyone's rights.
8. Third-party services and links
The App uses third-party services, such as weather data, sign-in, analytics, advertising, and affiliate retailers. They have their own terms. We are not responsible for third-party products, sites or services, and purchases from retailers are between you and the retailer.
9. Changes and availability
We may change, add or remove features, and may suspend or discontinue the App. If we discontinue an annual plan before your paid term ends, any refund of the unused portion will be handled through the store, or provided where required by law.
10. Termination
You can stop using the App and delete your account at any time in Settings > Account > Delete account or at [ACCOUNT DELETION URL]. Deleting your account does not cancel a store subscription; cancel it in the store. We may suspend or terminate your access if you materially break these Terms, with notice where practical.
11. Intellectual property
The App, its content and the Packworthy name and logos belong to us or our licensors. These Terms do not give you any rights to them except the license in Section 2.
12. Disclaimers
TO THE FULLEST EXTENT PERMITTED BY LAW, THE APP IS PROVIDED "AS IS" AND "AS AVAILABLE," WITHOUT WARRANTIES OF ANY KIND, INCLUDING MERCHANTABILITY, FITNESS FOR A PARTICULAR PURPOSE, ACCURACY, AND NON-INFRINGEMENT. Nothing in these Terms limits mandatory consumer rights where you live.
13. Limitation of liability
TO THE FULLEST EXTENT PERMITTED BY LAW, WE ARE NOT LIABLE FOR INDIRECT, INCIDENTAL, SPECIAL, CONSEQUENTIAL OR PUNITIVE DAMAGES, OR FOR ITEMS FORGOTTEN, LOST, CONFISCATED OR NOT PACKED, MISSED TRAVEL, OR LOST DATA. OUR TOTAL LIABILITY IS LIMITED TO THE GREATER OF US$50 OR THE AMOUNT YOU PAID FOR THE APP IN THE 12 MONTHS BEFORE THE CLAIM. These limits do not apply where prohibited by law, including liability for death or personal injury caused by negligence, or for fraud.
14. Indemnity
To the extent permitted by law, you agree to indemnify us against third-party claims arising from your content or your breach of these Terms. This does not apply to consumers where prohibited by law.
15. Dispute resolution and governing law
The dispute resolution, arbitration, class-action waiver, opt-out, and governing-law provisions of our website Terms of Service, Sections 13–14 apply to the App and are incorporated here, including the exceptions for users outside the U.S. These Terms are governed by California law, subject to the mandatory laws of the country where you live.
16. App store terms
16.1 Apple (applies if you downloaded the App from the Apple App Store)
- Acknowledgement. These Terms are between you and [LEGAL ENTITY] only, not Apple Inc. ("Apple"). [LEGAL ENTITY], not Apple, is solely responsible for the App and its content. These Terms may not provide usage rules that conflict with the Apple Media Services Terms and Conditions (the "Usage Rules") in effect on the date you accept them.
- Scope of license. Your license to use the App is limited to a non-transferable license to use the App on any Apple-branded products that you own or control, as permitted by the Usage Rules, except that the App may be accessed and used by other accounts associated with you via Family Sharing or volume purchasing.
- Maintenance and support. [LEGAL ENTITY] is solely responsible for providing maintenance and support for the App, as stated in these Terms or as required by law. Apple has no obligation to furnish any maintenance and support services for the App.
- Warranty. [LEGAL ENTITY] is solely responsible for any product warranties, express or implied by law, to the extent not effectively disclaimed. If the App fails to conform to any applicable warranty, you may notify Apple, and Apple will refund the purchase price (if any) for the App to you. To the maximum extent permitted by law, Apple has no other warranty obligation with respect to the App, and any other claims, losses, liabilities, damages, costs or expenses attributable to any failure to conform to any warranty are [LEGAL ENTITY]'s sole responsibility.
- Product claims. [LEGAL ENTITY], not Apple, is responsible for addressing any claims by you or any third party relating to the App or your possession and use of it, including (i) product liability claims; (ii) any claim that the App fails to conform to any applicable legal or regulatory requirement; and (iii) claims arising under consumer protection, privacy, or similar legislation. These Terms do not limit [LEGAL ENTITY]'s liability to you beyond what is permitted by applicable law.
- Intellectual property rights. If a third party claims that the App or your possession and use of it infringes that third party's intellectual property rights, [LEGAL ENTITY], not Apple, is solely responsible for the investigation, defense, settlement and discharge of that claim.
- Legal compliance. You represent and warrant that (i) you are not located in a country that is subject to a U.S. Government embargo, or that has been designated by the U.S. Government as a "terrorist supporting" country; and (ii) you are not listed on any U.S. Government list of prohibited or restricted parties.
- Developer name and address. Questions, complaints or claims about the App: [LEGAL ENTITY] (dba AutoOps), [MAILING ADDRESS], [CONTACT EMAIL].
- Third-party terms. You must comply with applicable third-party terms of agreement when using the App (for example, your wireless data service agreement).
- Third-party beneficiary. Apple and Apple's subsidiaries are third-party beneficiaries of these Terms, and upon your acceptance of these Terms, Apple will have the right (and will be deemed to have accepted the right) to enforce these Terms against you as a third-party beneficiary.
16.2 Google Play (applies if you downloaded the App from Google Play)
Your use of the App is also subject to the Google Play Terms of Service. Google is not a party to these Terms and is not responsible for the App. Purchases are processed through Google Play Billing and are subject to Google Play's payment and refund policies. If these Terms conflict with the Google Play Terms of Service regarding your use of Google Play, the Google Play terms control for that conflict.
17. Changes to these Terms
We may update these Terms. We will notify you of material changes in the App or by email before they take effect. Changes to purchase or renewal terms will not affect a paid term already in progress without your consent.
18. General
These Terms, the Privacy Policy, and any incorporated terms are the entire agreement about the App. If a provision is unenforceable, the rest remains in effect. We may assign these Terms in connection with a merger or sale of our business. No waiver is effective unless in writing.
